Promentum stands for Professionals & Momentum. That name says something about how we view business software. You want to be able to rely on people who understand your processes. At the same time, you want to work with a platform that continues to evolve, so your organization can take advantage of new opportunities.
The capabilities of business software are changing rapidly. For us, momentum means that we continue to translate new developments into improvements that benefit our customers. The upcoming release of the Uniconta MCP server, version 96, is a great example of this.
Moving forward even after implementation
When choosing an ERP system, you consider what your company needs today. You want to have control over your financial records, inventory, and order processing. But you’re also making that choice with the coming years in mind. Your company will grow, processes will change, and new opportunities will arise that didn’t exist at the time of the initial implementation.
That’s why, even after the system goes live, we continue to look for ways to improve it. Perhaps an employee compiles the same report every week. Or maybe answering a question about costs takes time each time because data first has to be looked up and compiled. New technology can help simplify these tasks.
That’s momentum for us: continuing to build on what we’ve achieved and consistently taking meaningful next steps.
Uniconta V96 Introduces a New Connection to AI
Uniconta , version 96, is expected in November 2026. Part of this release is the introduction of a dedicated MCP server. With this, Uniconta is adding a new way for AI applications to integrate with the ERP system.
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is a standard that allows AI applications to use available tools and functions. You can think of it as a connection that enables an AI assistant to determine what information to retrieve from Uniconta and which tool is needed to do so.
Uniconta It develops and maintains this official connection itself, in conjunction with the ERP platform. This creates an additional integration option that is being further developed with Uniconta .
Ask a question about your company information
Uniconta In the presentation, he gives a familiar example: “How much did we spend on travel expenses last quarter?”
Using a connected AI assistant, you can ask such a question in plain language. The assistant uses the available features to retrieve relevant data from Uniconta and formulate the answer. This can reduce the need to manually collect figures and make information more accessible to employees.
Recurring tasks also offer opportunities. Consider, for example, a configured workflow that retrieves data from Uniconta at a set time. An AI agent can summarize the results, prioritize key points, and share the overview via email or Teams, for example.
The available questions and workflows depend on the available MCP features and the selected configuration. The MCP server handles the connection; the AI assistant or workflow determines how it is used.
Professionals handle the translation
Effective implementation starts with understanding the work. For example, when performing a cost analysis, the correct general ledger accounts and time period must be used. And if an automated report flags a discrepancy, it must be clear who is responsible for reviewing and following up on it.
That's where the professionals come in. Together with the client, we determine what information is needed, how the application fits into the process, and where human oversight is still required. The result must be usable for the person working with it.
The Uniconta MCP server respects the user’s existing access rights. The selection and configuration of the connected AI application also require careful consideration. Clear agreements regarding data usage and permissions are essential to a functioning solution.
This is how we link new technology to a specific goal, such as spending less time on a weekly overview or getting a quicker picture of costs that require attention.
Building on what's already there
You can already see this approach reflected in our own product development. For wholesale and retail, we develop extensions and integrations based on real-world challenges. We also use business rules and AI applications to help customers get more out of their Uniconta environment.
MCP adds an additional option to this. For each process, we can examine how existing solutions and new features complement each other. Sometimes, a small adjustment is enough to eliminate a repetitive task. Other improvements require a carefully designed workflow.
Where is your next area for improvement?
What recurring task takes up your team's time every week? And what information would you like to have access to more quickly? Those are good questions to start with.
